How do I register my child/player?
You must first create an account on the Warren County South Little League website. You do this by clicking either the "Register" or "Login" buttons in the top right-hand corner of this website. Follow the prompts to create your account ( your name, address, etc). Next, you will be prompted to add a Participant (this means add a player). REMEMBER - The first step is to "Register" (create an Account) and then you will "Add a Participant (player)"

When is registration?
Registration for the Spring Season begins in late January and runs until the end of February.  Registration for Fall Ball typically runs through August.  Please visit our website for specific registration dates.

What do I need to bring for player registration?
You should bring a copy of the birth certificate of the player as well as a completed Little League School Enrollment form. The school Principal must sign this form.  This form is available on our website in the "Forms and Handouts" tab.

What if we missed registration?
If you missed registration, there is a late registration process.  Late registrations are accepted and added to a wait list.  Late registrants are only added on an "as needed" basis.  Please make every attempt to sign up online during the designated registration period.

When are games scheduled?
Practices for the Spring Season begin in mid-March and run throughout the season.  The Spring Season typically kicks off in mid-March and runs through June.  The Fall Ball season runs from August through September.

Do we play on Saturdays or Sundays?
We do not schedule any games on Saturdays and Sundays.  Some teams may opt to have practices on Saturdays or Sundays, as most fields are available.

What is included with my registration?
Player will receive a team jersey and cap only (Pants are not included). Registration fees also pay for the use of fields as well as game umpires.

What is the refund policy?
Refunds must be submitted in writing  and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Why does WCSLL do background checks on all volunteers?
In order to protect the safety of our children we process all volunteers using a thorough background check (criminal and sex offender in all states).

When are Player Evaluations?  (Spring Season Only)
"Tryouts" are also referred to as Player Evaluations, since every child that wants to participate in Little League is allowed to play. Player Evaluations for Majors and Minors are typically held in early March  just after the registration period has ended.

What are Player Evaluations?  (Spring Season Only)
A Player Evaluation is a method for measuring the skill of a player. This allows each manager to assess each player’s potential and make an informed decision as he assembles his team during the draft process (Minors and Majors only).

What is the "Draft"?   (Spring Season Only)
The draft process is a method in which the managers select their teams. There are specific rules mandated by Little League International that we must follow as part of our charter. During a draft, each manager is given a list of eligible players from which to select. Selection is made in a "serpentine process" where Manager #1 picks a player, then Manager #2 and so on until the last manager has picked a player. This ends a "draft round" and the process reverses, with the last manager starting the next round. This continues until all teams have selected a predetermined amount of players.

What if I, as a parent, want my player on a specific team?
No requests are taken. All players are drafted. Each manager's child (if applicable) is protected and considered the 10th player taken in the draft.

Why was my player not picked for the Majors?  (Spring Season Only)
Each manager drafts his team from the list of eligible player candidates. The reason for the skills evaluation is for each manager to have a reasonable basis for making an informed choice as to which players to select. There is usually a large pool of talented players from which to choose. For example, in the Majors each manager is required to draft as follows:  First, all 12 year old players are drafted.  Second, any remaining players who played in Majors the previous year are drafted.  If the division has 6 teams of 12 players for a total of 72 player positions, the total 12 year old and returning players could exceed 50 players. This leaves only 22 positions to be filled by 11 or 10 year old players, while there may be more than 120 10 and 11 year old players to choose from.

What if I don't attend Player Evaluations?  (Spring Season Only)
Players who do not attend tryouts will be selected by hat-pick only.

Can my player wear his own batting helmet?
Yes, but he must wear a baseball approved face mask on the helmet during the "regular" season.
